AEA home
  The Association for Education and Ageing was founded in 1985 to promote:
  • older people's education and learning activities
  • the education and training of professionals and volunteers who work with older people
  • public education about the ageing process

It aims to be responsive to demographic and socio-economic trends and policy developments that affect older people's abilities to lead active and fulfilling lives by:
  • encouraging the sharing and dissemination of good practice in the broad field of education and later life
  • exposing theory and practice to critical scrutiny
  • producing a quarterly Digest
  • arranging an annual conference and linking with a range of organisations and individuals internationally
  • enabling networking among people from a wide variety of disciplines, services and interest, including many retirees
  • supporting and promoting the interests of older people engaged in learning
