AnnotationThe Higher Institute for Labour Studies at the University of Leuven organised this European comparative study on behalf of the European Commission and the Belgian government. The study investigated social protection arrangements - that is health insurance provision - for older people in the fifteen member states of the European Union (EU) and Norway. As well as providing an up-to-date overview of the systems of social protection for older people, this book presents a comparative analysis of the residential, semi-residential and community services available. The study is complemented by debate around policy reform of the social protection system for dependent older people, with particular attention given to the topic of long-term care insurance. (RH).
