AnnotationOFCOM is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, taking over the roles of Independent Television Commission, the Broadcasting Standards Commission, the Radio Authority and OFTEL. The driving force for there being a single regulator instead of separate organisations is the process of convergence of electronic media. This publication incorporates a commentary on the main technological features to complement the main discussions on issues such as improving accessibility of telecommunications and broadcasting services.
