AnnotationMultivariate analyses of data derived from the US Collaborative Study of Long-Term Care (CS-LTC), a four-state study of 193 residential care / assisted living (RC/AL) and 40 nursing homes (NHs), examined differences in 10 processes of care measures based on facility size. Differences found in process of care and resident characteristics by facility type highlight the importance of considering: the adequacy of existing process measures for evaluating smaller facilities; resident case-mix when comparing facility types and outcomes; and complexity of understanding the implication of the process of care, given the importance of person-environment fit.
