| Annotation | The pensions policies being pursued by the developed world are unlikely to deliver the future which its citizens expect. Any long-term economic strategy will be full of uncertainty; but the arguments presented in this paper - arising from a symposium in June 2001 - suggest that this is the one certainty on which we can rely. Speakers put forward a range of views representative of Anglo-American and European attitudes to pension provision. Policy-makers need the spur of public concern if they have to make difficult decisions and choices. (RH). |
