| Annotation | An expert casts a critical eye over the creation and implementation of the national policy of intermediate care. That intermediate care means different things to different people, and there being no consensus as to its interpretation leads to the author's concern that sceptics may try to kill it off. He calls on champions and innovators to promote the case for intermediate care, with the aim of an optimum service for all users. A fundamental requirement is a fully implemented single assessment process (SAP), that will deliver timely standardised assessments shared with other professionals and at the right time. (RH). |
