AnnotationThis compilation is the result of work by the Elderly Nutrition Education Group (ENE), an independent group of American nutrition professionals with strong interest in and commitment to the importance of nutrition education for older adults. The four articles are the result of an ENE symposium held in 1999 in Baltimore, MD, and deal with a variety of matters regarding nutrition education for varying populations of older adults. The papers in the ENE collection are a mixture of reports of current research, good practice implementation, educational materials, literature reviews by topic, and viewpoints. This issue features a fifth ENE literature review, "Improving effectiveness of nutrition education resources for older adults". The other three submissions consider nutrition education with regard to: using a focus group approach to determine older people's attitudes and opinions; nutrition knowledge in residential homes; and determining gaps and needs in provision of nutrition education. The organiser and co-editor for the ENE collection is Mary Meck Higgins, Assistant Professor and Cooperative Extension Service nutrition specialist at Kansas State University. (KJ/RH).
