AnnotationMalayalam is a Dravidian language spoken by 31 million people in Kerala. Malayalam adaptation (m-ACE) of the Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination (ACE) was intended to screen for dementia in the community in this Southern Indian state. A qualitative comparison of the performance of the local population on the m-ACE with that of the UK population on the ACE showed good equivalence of the two versions of the tool. To make meaningful interpretation on the m-ACE, education stratified cut-off scores are essential. (RH).
