AnnotationOlder migrants are older people whose civil status, socio-economic circumstances and state welfare entitlements and receipts are influenced by having been an international migrant. In 2000, the European Sciences Foundation extended a proposal from the Sheffield Institute for Studies on Ageing (SISA) for workshops on the theme "European dimensions of changing retirement" to cover "The welfare of older migrants". The field of interest is limited to older international migrants in existing and prospective members states of the European Union (EU). This compilation draws attention to work already published (or for future publication) by members of the Scientific Network. It comprises 14 essays on migrations to Spain principally, but also to Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and the Netherlands, These subjects are reflected in the short directory of research projects and an extensive bibliography.
