| Annotation | The Government has introduced a change to work related immigration in 2009. Work permits have been abolished and a new points-based system introduced whereby foreign workers must gain a minimum number of points in entry clearance. A care operator who is recruiting workers from outside the European Economic area is required to register as a Sponsor and hold a Licence. This briefing outlines the implications of this ruling for the care operator wishing to employ care assistants from overseas. (KJ). |
