AnnotationIn the UK, more than 140 million working days are lost each year; and the total annual economic costs of sickness absence and worklessness associated with working age ill health are estimated at more than £100 billion. This report uses findings from the Sickness Absence Review, requested by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in 2011, to make a case for removing tax on a range of workplace health support services. It provides an economic analysis which suggests that that 3.8 million fewer days could be lost to sickness each year, resulting in productivity gains. (RH).
