| Annotation | How can we ensure that people living with dementia are better understood and more supported in society? The author reflects on the achievements of Dementia Without Walls, a Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) programme with people with dementia at its heart. The JRF has been working with the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust to becoming more dementia friendly organisations as service providers and as employers, as well as their involvement in helping to make York and Bradford more dementia friendly cities. The establishment of the DEEP network (Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project) is acknowledged as making a major contribution to the Dementia Without Walls programme. (RH). |
