AnnotationDescribes an investigation carried out in 1958 on Merseyside by the MRC's Unit for Research on Occupational Aspects of Ageing, as part of their general study of the changes that occur with age throughout the adult life span. The authors conclude that the well-being of the industrial worker beyond the age of 60 can best be promoted through action taken by industry itself to minimise the stresses imposed on him in a period of some 20 years prior to retirement.
