Annotation	This Bill gives effect to the policy proposals in the White Paper on Housing (Cmnd 2050). It sets up a new body (the Housing Corporation) to assist housing societies to provide accommodation. It confers powers and duties on local authorities to compel carrying out of improvement of standard amenities in housing and in relation to houses in multi-occupation (HMOs). It also amends the Clean Air Act 1956 relating to making of contributions to expenditure incurred in adaptation of fireplaces in private dwellings. (RH).
