AnnotationIn 1973 the Corporation published a booklet entitled "Services for the elderly at home". this was designed to bring together in concise form information available from different sources about services and has led to the publication of this booklet on housing matters. There are four papers. The first two papers by Mellor were written originally for the Corporation's Advisory Council and attempt to provide basic facts and statistical data. The third paper by Smith on new towns and old people forms part of a research study on social planning and new communities undertaken by the Centre for Urban and Regional Studies, University of Birmingham. The final paper by Karn on retirement migration is based on a study carried out under the same auspices but funded by the Corporation itself. (KJ).
