AnnotationResearch has shown that the use of medical and psychiatric care services varies with marital status, with non-married persons being the more frequent users. In this descriptive study, 126 older people living in the community in the Canterbury area were interviewed to examine the differential use made by married and non-married people of a range of health and social services, over a three-year period. Illustrative case studies are included. (AKM).
