AnnotationThere has been a growing awareness of the need for more housing specifically designed for older people. The proportion of such housing in the public housing programme rose from about 10% in the 1950s to over 25% in the 1960s. The need has arisen because people are living longer, and are able to look after themselves longer. This paper suggests that housing management should have clearer objectives, and must adjust methods to suit changing needs. (RH).
