AnnotationThe purpose of the Conference was to consider the principles underlying social work and their application to the day-to-day work of Citizens' Advice Bureaux (CABs) or to other advisory services. The papers were also intended to serve as a basis for thought and discussion by CAB workers, and possibly as the first step in the direction of adopting a "code of ethics" for their guidance. The concluding paper discusses the legal implications of the confidential nature of CAB work. (RH).
