KeywordsMental disorder.
AnnotationToday's older people experience psychiatric illness in a way that is unique to their own generation. The onslaught of organic brain disease in the middle seventies, however, has its own particular effects on the experience. It is common for older people to suffer from anxiety, hypochondria, depression, paranoia, dementia and Alzheimer's disease (AD). They also become more prone to the side-effects from drugs. (RH).
