AnnotationThe data for this report was obtained for Age Concern by Research Surveys of Great Britain Limited (RSGB), and was included in their General Omnibus Survey. A total of 2000 men and women aged 16 years and over were interviewed. Findings revealed that most respondents thought the pension for a married couple should be higher; more than half of those who expressed an opinion were willing to pay extra tax in order that the pensions could be further raised; and the majority wanted three quarters or more of their pre-retirement income.
