AnnotationThis independent report by the Central London Outreach Team is based on its work with people sleeping rough in Central London from April to December 1983. The broad goals of the project were: to make contact with people sleeping rough in London; to offer them advice, assistance and support; and to obtain information on the characteristics, views and experiences of people sleeping rough. Recommendations are made on the following: housing (hostel provision and alternative housing); provision for homeless men and women with drink problems; other services (day centres and the Probation Service); the police and homeless people; and outreach work with people sleeping rough.
