| Annotation | Social work in a long stay hospital may seem to offer a very limited range of opportunities for development. This article examines some of the theoretical possibilities for the extension of practice in such a setting, and describes a student placement which set out to approach social work practice in a small geriatric hospital on a number of levels. |
