AnnotationThe draft Supplementary Benefit (Requirements, Resources and Single Payments) Amendment Regulations 1983 and the draft Supplementary Benefit (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1983 were submitted to the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) in accordance with the requirements of Section 10(3) of the Social Security Act 1980. The Regulations make changes to clarify existing provisions, for example in relation to invalidity benefit and long-term incapacity benefits counting towards the qualifying period for eligibility of the long-term rate of supplementary benefit (SB). The SSAC's reports are preceded by a statement by the Secretary of State for Social Services. (RH).
