AnnotationLittle is known about the importance of spirituality in older women. This study explored the role of spirituality in the lives of a sample of 56 women aged 70 years and over in the United States (US). Participants responded to the JAREL Spiritual Well-Being Scale and a demographic data questionnaire. Using an analysis of variance, significance was found for those who did not attend school beyond high school and those who did. There were differences between Catholics and Protestants on the Faith Belief Dimension factor and the total spirituality score. Overall, the study found a high level of spirituality in the women studied.
