| Annotation | A multicultural model of care developed for St George's Nursing Home and Hostel (Anglican Homes) in Victoria, Australia is described. Despite having a policy of equal access, there were very few residents from minority ethnic groups. The new model of care aims to provide individualised care within a multicultural context. Over a two-year period, St George's has become home to individuals from nineteen different countries. The author concludes that minority ethnic groups and individuals will access a mainstream service that offers culturally appropriate care. (AKM). |
