| Annotation | The More Developed Countries (MDCs) are already experiencing increased health care burden from greater longevity. This is likely to be a challenge to the Less Developed Countries, which will see at least a doubling of their older populations in the next thirty years. The implications for health care and extended care in LDCs are examined. This paper was presented as a theme paper at the Ministerial Round Table on Ageing and Health at the 12th Commonwealth Health Ministries Meeting in Barbados in November 1998. (RH). |
