A Better Home Life: A Code of Good Practice for Residential and Nursing Home Care

A Better Home Life is a code of practice that sets out quality standards for the continuing care of older people. It gives clear guidance on care and management that will accord older people dignity and respect, and foster residents' individuality and sense of self-worth. Topics covered include coming to live in a home, daily life, health and personal care, care for the dying, building design, management and administration, staff training, prevention of elder abuse, and the needs of residents with dementia.

This code continues to be a valuable resource for all homeowners, managers and inspectors. It is also a source of guidance to people already living in homes, or about to move into one.
